Student should be praise and always acknowledge for their efforts. Teacher need to somehow in prekindergarten and kindergarten help children feel they are capable of accomplishing something. The stickers should be joint efforts and working together. We want student to see the value themselves so they can build up their self-esteem. Extra privileges should be for everyone not for just one child. The class together working to achieve things together. Children with IEPs may have something different to help them stay a task

The stickers should be joint efforts and working together. We want student to see the value themselves so they can build up their self-esteem. Extra privileges should be for everyone not for just one child. The class together working to achieve things together. Children with IEPs may have something different to help them stay a task. The pros are that reward system can motivate children to do better and stay on task. Pros: it gives student something to work for. Cons: it leaves some children out that have a hard time following directions and staying task. Cons: the children that do not do well will feel the teacher favors the other over them. The idea of rewarding children for what they should be doing anyway. The teacher needs to use strategy to do what they need to without personal reward Instead reward that makes the whole class shine. In other grades this may not be an option.
