The number and type of the public health workers needed depends on such factors as the health priorities of the population, the availability of healthcare services, and the social and political allocation of responsibility between government and the private sector. Discuss how these factors change over time and, as a result, how they impact the public health workforce. Next, consider Chapters 11 and 12 in your textbook.
